Dr. Trevor Hoppe honored with two major book awards

UNCG Sociologist Dr. Trevor Hoppe’s recent book, Punishing Disease: HIV and the Criminalization of Sickness (University of California Press), has received two significant awards: The American Sociological Association’s Sociology of Sexualities 2019 Distinguished Book Award and the Edwin H. Sutherland Outstanding Scholarship Book Award, granted by the Law & Society Division of the Society for the Study of Social Problems (SSSP).

Dr. Hoppe’s book is considered to be a path-breaking analysis of the sociology of sexuality, law, and social policy.
