Dr. Steven R. Cureton publishes third book in three years

Professor Steven R. Cureton has published his third book in three years. The latest monograph, Liberation Movements and Black-On-Black Survival Love: It’s No Ordinary Love, centers on civil rights and interpersonal relations amongst prominent liberation icons. The book also explores colorism, black power, race manners, race matters, and black feminism.

Dr. Karatasli receives honor

Assistant Professor Dr. Sahan Karatasli’s journal article, “Capitalism and nationalism in the longue durée: Hegemony, crisis, and state-seeking nationalist mobilization, 1492-2013”, has received the 2021 Distinguished Article Award by the American Sociological Association‘s Political-Economy of the World Systems section (PEWS).
