UNCG Sociology graduate students present at ASC

UNCG Sociology graduate students Kelly Childress and Elizabeth Moberly both presented their scholarly work at the November 2019 meeting of the American Society of Criminology in San Francisco, California. Childress’ paper, co-authored with Dr. Kauzlarich, connected intersectional, black feminist, and black criminology with state crime studies. This is the first modern effort to do so in the field of criminology. Moberly’s paper addressed carceral feminism and its possible connections to the #metoo movement. Both papers were so well received that they were cited later in the day by a prominent scholar chairing a panel on feminist criminology.
