Sociology and Environmental & Sustainability Program Host Closing Ceremony for the Princeville Portraits of Humanities Exhibit

On February 28, the last day of Black History Month, the Sociology Department & the Environmental & Sustainability Program hosted a closing ceremony for the Princeville Portraits of Humanities Exhibit in the Office of Intercultural Engagement (EUC). There was yummy food and spirit-filled words from several Princeville residents, including  Mayor, Bobbie Jones, Mr. Calvin Adkins Sr., Ms. Linda Joyner, Ms. LeeCee Jones, and Ms. Jamilla Hawkins. Thanks to Ena Prskalo for the photos below.

About Princeville: From its beginning to the present day, Princeville has faced a seemingly unending number of catastrophic floods. Most recently, two 500-year floods, Hurricanes Floyd in 1999 and Matthew in 2016 laid waste the town. Despite these events, the residents of Princeville are determined to recover and rebuild.
