Scott Grether, BA ’09

I graduated from UNCG in the Fall of 2009 with a BA in sociology and history. I continued my education in sociology at George Washington University where I earned my MA in the spring of 2012. My thesis explored how social support is related to the likelihood of divorce among interracial couples and how measures typically associated with divorce may be moderated by social support. I presented my thesis at the 2012 Eastern Sociological Society in New York City. While at George Washington, I worked as an intern in the research department at the American Sociological Association from 2011-2012. Currently, I’m seeking my PhD in sociology at North Carolina State University where I specialize in marriage and the life course and inequality.
