Rachael Patterson, MA ’05

Rachel Patterson

I attended Wake Forest right after high school, but soon realized that it wasn’t quite time for me to be a full-time college student. This didn’t happen until I reached my late twenties. I was able then to transfer most of my credit hours to UNCW, so it didn’t take me long to finish. I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Sociology in 2001. Soon after, I began work on my MA in Sociology here at UNCG and completed my MA in 2005. I worked in the mental health field for a number of years – in a therapeutic group home for girls and as a community support worker. In August 2007, I returned to UNCG as an instructor. I’ve since become an academic advisor for the department as well.
