Personal Statement:

What draws me to Sociology is its offer to provide ways of understanding society for the means of improvement. Although I began my professional life in the field of social work, this experience ultimately led me back to the centrality I affix to the sociological imagination. As an instructor, I feel my primary responsibility is to encourage this practice of critical thought, both for the individual and society.
