Heather Lyons, MA ’12

Things are going really well. I’m working in the Office of Planning & Research at Sandhills Community College in Pinehurst and am happy to say I’m actually using my degree (especially the skills I learned in statistics class)!! Besides helping to provide data to college administrators and faculty members, I’m also assessing the effectiveness of the college’s academic programs and administrative units using surveys, and reviewing program processes and goals. Beginning in fall 2014, I will be teaching an Intro to Sociology class as well.
